Think it’s time for you to put down the pen, close the laptop, and set down your tablet. You don’t need to write for the next 7 days.

Take this piece of writing advice:

Now is the time to fill up your creative tank with reading, listening, and resting.

This is important for creating. It will also help you prepare for next year. Speaking of preparing for next year…

If you must do something, plan.

Now is also a great time to plan your content.

Having a plan for your content will help you take things to the next level. Review your best articles this year and see what did well. Look to repeat while expanding your horizons.

If you must write, I challenge you not to publish.

Go radio silent for this week and see what happens. You might be surprised.

Sometimes doing nothing will reveal a great deal to us. For example, Christmas Day I will post a Christmas message. Then I won’t Publish anything until January 1. I’m looking to see how those few days of silence works for or against me.

The Challenge

Pick one of these three options. Share in the responses below which you will do. Then do it. Tell me how it goes by writing a post on or after January 1. I’d love to hear how it goes!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
