Or at least it can be!

Work from home is something everyone wants but everyone talks about like it’s a bad idea.

And I get it. It is easy for this to be a bad idea. Employees take advantage of the freedom. They don’t do their work. And ultimately productivity can dip.

I have seen it happen. It not only hurts the employee, but the employer too! And everyone around that employee.

Yet, I think there is a lot of good too.

Hear me out!

I know there are negatives to working from home. Shoot, I work from home two days a week. And I know a lot of the negatives to working from home.

They come in a few forms:

  • Lack of socialization
  • Personal distractions
  • Less resources
  • More personal responsibility
  • No work-life separation

And I’m sure there are a lot more. But there are some really positive things with work from home too!

  1. More time with family. I don’t have a commute. My breaks and lunch are with my wife and kids. It is beautiful to be part of their day.
