Did you know that there are over 450 English Bible versions available?

Finding the proper Bible for your devotional time can be difficult, with options ranging from the Geneva Bible to the King James Version, and everything in between.

While you may be able to push yourself to read a difficult translation, you may find it impossible to comprehend, leading you to give up reading the Bible entirely!

On the other hand, selecting a translation that is overly “liberal” may cause you to misinterpret crucial parts of Scripture, which is something you do not want to happen.

So, which should you read or where should you start?

5 Most Popular Bible Translations

Generally speaking, there are five very popular versions that come and go throughout the year. But these ones tend to grab the most attention when it comes to reading your Bible, they are as follows:

  1. New International Version (NIV)
  2. King James Version (KJV)
  3. English Standard Version (ESV)
  4. New Living Translation (NLT)
