Death. Heartbreak. Sadness. Marginalization. Frustration. Worn out. Exhausted.

All words I have used to describe this year. In fact, the list goes on and on. I find myself feeling years older than I did at the beginning of the year. Sure, I’m 36, but this has been one of the toughest years of my life. If not the toughest.

I keep trying to reconcile it. Maybe something good is going to come out of it or maybe I will find some important lesson. I’m an eternal optimist after all. But I honestly struggling to be optimistic whatsoever these days.

The amount of strife and loss I have been experiencing is driving away anything positive that has happened this year.

I could tell you about the terrible things going on, but I honestly don’t want to bring you down. Because they would. And I k ow as well as anyone else that we have plenty of things to bring us down right now. So, I’m going to avoid it.

I do want to challenge you.

Before you decide to rip into someone sharing their opinion politely, consider where they are coming from in life.

Instead of fulfilling your desire to set someone straight on their views or values, find a way to bridge the gap between you.
