People are leaving the church in droves. Often, we hear the same stories: hurt, pain, brokenness, abuse of power, and much more.

Everyone has a story about a pastor, elder, or layperson who broke trust, caused some hurt, or straight out abused them.

These stories show that the local church has broken the trust of the followers of Jesus.

And because of it, people are missing the power the local church could have in their lives.

Yet, with the brokenness, the power has been set aside for so many Christians. But it cannot stay this way. The local church must rise again.

Today, I want to discuss the power of the local church and how it contributes to the spiritual discipline of community which every Christian needs.
