The Power To Banish The Devil
Matthew 4 tells us why this is possible
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’” Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. — Matthew 4:10–11
After I became a Christian, something happened in my life. I started to experience a lot of unusual activity in my thinking and the way I acted. Especially, since I was still in college and I was figuring out who I was.
Thinking back, I was probably having conversations with the evil powers of this world. Much of my thought life was tumultuous. Some of this probably had to do with hormones and mental growth, but there were definitely times when my character was being established through trials.
I remember being faced with a situation of injustice in my fraternity. These situations came from all sorts of directions and when I was left to decide how we should act I wrestled with them.
It was almost like having conversations with an “angel of good” on one shoulder and a “demon of bad” on the other. Just like in the cartoons.
