The Kingdom Of God Is Moving
To the very ends of the earth
After Jesus rose from the dead, he had one final thing he needed to do before returning to God the Father. Sure, he did a lot of things before he ascended to heaven, but there was one thing he had to make sure was clear.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18–20, NIV)
This scripture is often used to remind Christians to share their faith. Yes, it is a primary part of this scripture. However, I have come to realize something about its importance to understanding the Kingdom of God.
It is as much a declaration as it is a commission.
