The Good News Comes First

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” — Romans 1:16–17 (NLT)

The Good News of the gospel of Jesus must first apply to our lives before we can take it to anyone else.

As Christians, we sometimes like to get ahead of ourselves when it comes to the people around us. We think we need to save them. Or that we must share the gospel with them And sometimes we get into this “fixing” mindset with other people.

But that isn’t what we are called into when we believe in Jesus.

First, we are called into learning to live rightly, through the power of the Holy Spirit, with the help of the Bible and community. This is what Paul continues to discuss when he first makes contact with the Romans.
