The Church Needs To Refocus
It does a lot of good, some bad, but it needs to get back to the basics
I have attended many types of churches over the years.
I grew up in a small rural church. Went to make shift church meetings in university buildings. I have joined mega churches, bible churches, and now my wife and I lead a small house church.
One thing I am starting to realize as we get into leading our small house church is that many churches today are missing on primary focus.
The church on earth needs one thing and one thing only to fulfill it’s purpose and we have spent so long chasing after other things (often influenced by culture) that it’s time to come back to the most important thing.
Jesus
It’s easy to overcomplicate things with worship, great messages, and church programs. But ultimately, the entire thing revolves around Jesus.
And when we miss Jesus in the middle of all the other things, the other things are done in vain. They may be helpful, but they aren’t pointing people to the one who changes everything.
Here are a few things I have been thinking about why refocusing is essential in this time.
