The Best Advice I Can Give Anyone About Writing
9 years of experience, 18 books published, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.
I started writing in 2017.
I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t really have any direction.
But, I started writing.
Over time, I found my voice. I also found the niche that I was supposed to be writing in, but guess what?
- I wrote content in five different niches before settling in on what I write today.
- I had a lot of posts that got absolutely no traction.
- And it took a long time to grow a following and email list.
What did I learn from all of it?
The usual advice is best:
Be consistent.
But there is one more piece of advice that has helped me the most over the years and I want to share it with you today.
Allow yourself to discover and take your time.
Sure, there are people who are growing followings and subscribers super fast. But they probably worked at it for years before finding their place.
Almost everyone I ever talk to about it tells me that they had to figure out where they were supposed to be and it took a lot of time.
So..
Be consistent, enter the journey of discovery, and take one step at a time.
