There’s this song right now that my wife and I have been listening to a lot. It’s called Talking to Jesus by Brandon Lake. Every time we listen to it reminds us of what we are doing as parents.
The song starts out with Brandon listening to his grandma pray at night. Then the next verse talks about how his mom took him to church encouraging him to have God in his life. The third verse of the song describes a moment that Brandon had with his own son and introducing him to talking to Jesus.
For my wife and I, we love this song because we want to encourage a generational faith in our family that isn’t simply tradition or expectation, but real for our kids.
One of the ways that we do this is by encouraging them to experience Jesus through prayer. This song by Brandon Lake embodies our hearts for our children and their relationship with God.
