Stop Reading Everyone’s Money Making Articles

They are bad for you and here’s why

This year, I am going to stop reading the articles that say, “This is how I made X amount of money on X platform.” Want to know why? Because they are killing me. And chances are, they are killing you too.

It drives me crazy and I hate it. Because I always click. Read the same, lame old tips. Then I move on feeling cheated.

Especially because I know that most of these writers have succeeded, but I’m not convinced it’s because they ‘write a lot, publish with the big publications, and all of that other stuff you read over and over again.’

I feel this way because I look a many of their articles and they follow a few patterns that seem to do really well on Medium. For example, they write about writing on Medium(coincidentally like this post), share their terrible stories about relationships, or because they write about the other two topics of the big three (health and wealth).

Which is fine I suppose. Write what people want to read. And then tell us about how rich you are getting and how easy it is to get rich. Until we find that it isn’t easy to get rich. Then we become disillusioned, hopeless, or even give up.
