Psalm 6: Have Compassion, Lord
For I am weak
Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord, until you restore me? Return, O Lord, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love. — Psalm 6:2–4 (NLT)
Life is not always butterflies and spring flowers. Sometimes there is hurt, grief, and pain. When a step into these seasons of life, it is easy to push away from God.
Yet, King David reminds us in Psalm 6 that we need to seek him in our weakness, agony, and sadness. When we come up against troubles in our lives, there is something important in seeking God and asking for his help.
Not like a vending machine, but in a way that shows God we are placing our entire trust in him. We are called to do this, and we know this is possible.
Remember:
- When you feel weak, ask God to strengthen you.
- When you think in agony or sick, ask God to heal you.
- When you feel in need of rescue, ask God to rescue you.
God wants us to come to him with the things going on in our lives. He wants us to trust…
