Psalm 4: God Answers Your Call
A few verses you may want to pray through this week
But know that the Lord has set apart the godly person for Himself; The Lord hears when I call to Him… Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the Lord…You have put joy in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine are abundant. In peace, I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, have me dwell in safety. — Psalms 4:3,5,7–8 (NASB)
As I read through this Psalm, I found myself experiencing a great sense of calm. In fact, it was something that I needed specifically at the moment that I was reading it. There were three main things that suck out to me.
God has set apart his people.
In doing so, he answers our call when we come to him with whatever is on our minds. This closeness can never be taken away from us.
God wants us to give in the right spirit.
When we give in the right spirit, we are showing our trust in the Lord. This trust brings great glory to our giving and our connection with God.
God gives us joy and keeps us safe.
There is a great joy in trusting God, believing in Jesus, and experiencing the Holy Spirit. When we draw near…
