Outlander By Diana Gabaldon

To read or to watch, that is the question

I read this book because I watched the TV show on Starz. I’m just going to put it out there.

That said, I liked the book more.

Of course, I do, I’m a writer and author. But why do I like this book more than the show? Well, here are a few reasons:

1. It is 100% of the main character’s perspective.
2. While there is sexual activity in the book it is not overly glorified like the TV show.
3. It was a long read, but each chapter kept me reading.
4. The idea is interesting to me. Not sure how plausible, but interesting.
5. I love historical fiction, even if it isn’t overly historical.

My Verdict: If you are choosing whether to read or to watch, I would say read. The TV show overdoes anything that is sexual and leaves out some interesting characters. Plus, this book will keep you entertained for a while.
