The Kingdom of God was not always as easily accessible for people.

For years there wasn’t much coming from Heaven to Israel, God’s holy people. During that time, the religious leaders did their best to uphold the Torah and watch over the people of Israel.

Yet, many were lost. Caught up in dogma, rules, and sacred practices. They found themselves stuck in a neverending cycle of not being good enough and constantly having to work for their righteousness.

Then Jesus came.

He started to turn everything upside down when it came to the Kingdom of God. It started small. With his followers and others in small outlying towns. Then, he moved to major centers, he was always on his way to Jerusalem.

Then he got the attention of the religious leaders and the Romans. This was part of the plan. Always going toward Jerusalem and the cross. It isn’t to say that he went there with no worries, he questioned God, but he knew he had a job to do.

Jesus stood trial. He was mocked, beaten, and mutilated. Finally, he died. Yet, this was the beginning.
