Love Your Enemy
Matthew 5:43–45
“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.
Who is your enemy?
Honestly, I bet if you were really honest with yourself you could identify an enemy that in your life.
Maybe it’s your boss. Or a family member. Perhaps it’s your next-door neighbor. There are a lot of options for enemies in our lives. I could probably list off a dozen more people who could be your enemy.
Again, who is your enemy?
I want you to imagine that person in your mind. Come on, get a clear vision of them. Alright. Now, I want you to remember what they did to make them your enemy. That’s right, what is it that makes them the bad guy in your story.
Okay, are you there? You got that act in your mind. Is it making you angry? Are you feeling the apprehension and emotional response that comes with how you perceive them as your enemy?
