“On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.” — John 7:37–39 (NIV)

I remember the first time I truly experienced the Holy Spirit move in my life. Not to say that He hadn’t moved prior to this instance, but it was a definite “Spirit-filled” moment.

It was about a year after I became a Christian. While grabbing lunch with one of my friends we were sitting in our school’s union building and he was experiencing many of the same things I was the prior year.

His school work was stressful. Friendships were strained. Relationships with the opposite sex were difficult. And ultimately, we were learning to become adults in our first experiences of being away from home.

And then he asked me a question:
