THE GOSPEL OF JOHN: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE BELIEVE
John 12: No One Stays In Darkness
“No one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” — Jesus
Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. — John 12: 44–46
When we become Christians, something interesting happens, we begin to see the world in a different light. Areas of our lives before believing in Jesus start to look differently too. And our desires for those parts of our lives begin to fade only to be replaced by new desires.
I remember in my life there were a lot of things which began to change as I stepped out of the darkness of the life I was living before I met Jesus. While I was by no means in a lot of trouble, I was on my way there.
Between the partying scene and my constant ambitious drive with school and work, I was on my way to burnout and likely a lot more issues in the future.
