Jesus Eats with Tax Collectors
Mark 2:10–12
As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,”Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

About six months after I came to know Jesus, I was at a crossroads. The previous spring I had surrendered my life to Christ and continued to live the final four weeks of the term in the fraternity that I was a member.
The following fall, I decided to live in the fraternity again, however, my life was changing radically and I wasn’t prepared for that situation again. After spending most of the semester feeling miserable about my living situation I was asking God what should I do.
In this moment of prayer at a retreat for our Christian movement on campus Jesus met with me. I heard his voice say that I should stay. And that I should make my fraternity brothers my mission field.
I wasn’t thrilled with this idea at all. I told my mentor what I felt like Jesus was telling me to do and he opened up the Bible to this passage. Before we talked about the passage, I was so wrapped up in my worries about how…
