Jesus Can Give You Rest
But you need to come to him
What would it be like to find some rest these days?
Would it be something like sitting on a beach in Hawaii? Or getting cozy next to a fire with a cup of coffee in the mountains? Maybe it is having a chance to sit down a read a good book. Many of us have an idea of what would bring us rest in our world today.
Yet, we don’t do anything to find that rest. These ideas we have sound wonderful and nice. But, we don’t actually book the trip to Hawaii, or go up into the mountains or even sit down for a few minutes to read a book.
I used to wonder why we do this to ourselves. Why is it that we don’t actually do the things that we think will bring us to a place of rest in life?
After a lot of thought on this and some soul searching, God brought me to a Bible verse that helped me make sense of it all. After all, I am as guilty as anyone else for not taking the time to rest when I need it. I haven’t done any of the things that I thought would bring me rest.
Yet, it's probably because those things wouldn’t bring us the truest form of rest.
