When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!” — Mark 4:39–41

Growing up, I lived on a wheat farm in eastern Washington state. Every year we would get one or two big storms. Most of them came right after harvest in the fall.

We would get a big pressure system that would sweep across the high desert land and the thunder and lightening would be amazing.

One particular year, right after we finished harvest, we had the tops of our grain elevators open to help the wheat seed dry out.

One of these big storms came in really fast and we had to cover the tops and when I went to do it as fast as I could, I broke the rope that lowered the top down.

So, in the middle of a thunderstorm where the lightening was flashing every couple of seconds and the thunder was right overhead, I climbed a twenty foot metal grain tank to lower the hatch at the top.
