Is blogging dead?

I’m starting to ask this question myself

This week, I read Jeff Goins last blog post on his old website/blog, Goinswriter.com.

Like a lot of things coming from him these days, I was pretty bummed out by it.

The End of Blogging (for Me)

Honestly, I get where he is coming from when it comes to blogging. There was definitely a golden age for blogging.

After all, people love TikTok, Instagram, and long Twitter threads. Viewing history and the availability to information these days make it hard for anyone to focus on longer content.

Then there are the other writing platforms that make it even easier to write online. With all these free sites, you don’t need a stand alone blog.

Heck, I abandoned my blog for the last two years.

Yet, I found myself thinking it’s time to go back to my blog. Looking at the last two years, I’ve given over so much of my autonomy to Medium, NewsBreak, and others.

I’m going back to my blog.
