Is Blogging Dead?

Or is the better question, is a self-hosted blog dead?

I’ve had a blog since the beginning, since at least 2017.

I haven’t written on it much in the last few years. And I even decided at one point to start over. Yet, now I look back, and realize that was a bad idea.

Today, I posted for the first time on my blog for a while. To be honest, there was something really liberating about it. Here’s the post if you want to check it out:

Here’s the jist of it for those of you who don’t click over and help my page clicks and views, 😜:

• I’m tired of not having control over what I want to write about. Some platforms feel the need to stifle anything that they don’t agree with and so we are stuck with writing things we don’t like.
• I’m also tired of the fact that platforms are messing with things so much that we can’t get traction. I know its harder on a self-hosted blog, but I can get just as good of views off of Google SEO there as I do on said platforms.
