I was just thinking about this as I was chopping wood this morning for a warm fire and quiet morning with my daughters.

When we lived in Portland, OR I was always running around. Running to work, running to the store, running to see friends.

Since we moved to the country in eastern Washington state, we just do things differently. We build fires in the wood stove, read books on the deck, and I don’t hurry to do anything.

Sometimes though, a whisper sneaks in telling me to pick up the pace, push harder, or do more. When I woke up this morning, the whisper was much louder.

Then your article came through my feed this morning.

I was reminded to slow down. Be me. Enjoy life.
