Why on earth would I try not to get curated?

That’s a good question. I asked myself that several times last month while I was on my quest to not get curated. But, here are the reasons and things I wanted to learn:

  1. I wanted to stop focusing on curation so I could enjoy writing more.
  2. Also, I wanted to see how much not being curated would impact my stats and MPP.
  3. It is the exact opposite of what people are doing on Medium.

What Did I Learn?

  1. I published more, enjoyed what I wrote.
  2. My stats went up, my MPP stayed the same.
  3. I did get curated once, by accident, but it didn’t go viral.

What Can You Take Away From This?

You don’t have to get curated to thrive as a writer on Medium.
