How You Can Experience The Presence of God

When we went to dwell in God’s presence, it changes everything

Christianity isn’t only about doing the Christian things. Believe it or not, there is something more to what it means to be a Christian. There is an experience factor that propels people into an entirely new life.

Experience is an interesting thing because it's subjective. I have had experiences throughout my walk with God, starting from the very beginning. In fact, here are three that stand out to me:

  1. The first time I experienced time standing still and felt the weight of God’s presence rest on me was unmistakable. It was like a heavy, warm blanket that fell on me and I knew in my being something was different.
  2. The night that I decided to believe in Jesus was similar. It was a terrible day and when I started to lose control and thought about drowning my sorrows in a few drinks, the rush of wind that I heard in my ears and the fact that the gospel became clear to me at that moment changed everything.
