In many churches across America, and maybe the world, you might not know that Jesus opened the doors to the Kingdom of God. Honestly, you could walk into a church and it might not be any different than a community center.

People are nice, they greet you in, and give you a cup of coffee. Then you sit and listen to a speaker passionate about his topic. Afterward, you might mingle with someone you know from work and then you leave. No big deal. Nothing special.

Yet, I am convinced this isn’t the way God wants the Christian church to move within its community.

The church is supposed to be an outpost or embassy of God’s Kingdom. Yet, it often seems like just another social organization that so happens to have its own building with a coffee bar in it. What if, the church started acting like the Kingdom of God?

Well, for us to understand what that means and how that could look in our world today, we can pull something quite spectacular out of Matthew 12.

A Sign of the Kingdom of God
