Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him. A little farther up the shore Jesus saw Zebedee’s sons, James and John, in a boat repairing their nets. He called them at once, and they also followed him, leaving their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired men. — Mark 1:17–20

When I was in college, I was in a fraternity and I had a dream for it to be like the movie Animal House. I wanted wild parties, tons of fun and laughing, and to be the talk of the town.

As a sophomore in college, that seemed like a great idea. Until it wasn’t. We through an Animal House-style party and the next day we were the talk of the Greek community.

That talk had made its way back to our fraternal headquarters and they were coming to close our frat. I remember getting the phone call from our headquarter rep and feeling how the world was crumbling around me.

By the grace of God, a brother who had been going to a Bible study for fraternity and sorority member came in and invited me to come. I figured why not, what’s the worst that could happen, God would strike me down?
