There is a problem in the church today. It plagues the body of Christ and keeps people from digging into their questions about faith.
The problem?
Christians who feel far from God.
Yep, that’s right, I’m putting it out there just like that. But stick with me for a moment. Otherwise, you could fall into this trap or get stuck there forever!
Believing the Lie: We are FAR from God
You see, there is a problem with saying we are far from God. In saying that we are far from God, we are declaring a belief that we have:
“…For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” — Jesus, Matthew 12:34
If we are declaring something like the feeling we are far from God then we are believing we are far from God.
And this belief is a lie.
It is a lie to keep us from drawing closer to Him, form experiencing the power we have to change our world for good, and the reality of who we are in Jesus.
This lie tells us we are far, even though, as a Christian, that is impossible.
