Father’s Day: Instagram Vs. Reality
I’m living the reality…
This is not an Instagram story.
The room is messy. One child has me in a choke hold. And I’m exhausted. #Fatherhood
I love posting pictures of my family on Instagram. They are always happy, nice looking pictures. It would seem like the world is perfect. Today, you’ll see a lot of those pictures. But they never tell the whole story.
We all have the cute moments. Smiling babies. Snuggling, happy, sweet kiddos. The perfect family photos. We see them all the time, but especially on Father’s Day. These photos are important. They remind us of the sweet times. Especially, when things are less than sweet.
Reality
Last night, my 11-month-old decided she wouldn’t sleep without being held, until 1:00 am. Then, at 4:00 am this morning, after climbing in bed with us, she slaps me in the face. At this point, I’m awake. #HappyFathersDay

At this moment, my three daughters are all snuggling and laughing at this very story while we lay in the floor of our living room. My pregnant wife sleeps. The house is a mess. But, we are having a good time.
