The Gospel of Mark
Experiencing the Faith of Jesus
Mark 11:24–25
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
— Mark 11:24–25
I have had many prayers that felt like they were left unanswered. I have prayed for friends who’ve died of cancer, loved ones to be saved who still have not come to the Lord, and breakthrough for places that are still a struggle.
This is true for many in the church today. Praying for promotions at work, reconciliation with children or parents, or healing for disease and sickness that still hasn’t come through.
You might be experiencing this too. You’ve come to God asking for healing or relief or connection. And you are experiencing prayers that seemingly go unanswered.
Yet, Jesus hears all of your prayers.
When Jesus is talking to the disciples, he is teaching a short lesson about prayer and about what God the Father is looking for in a prayer. Jesus will model this behavior and it is captured in other gospels.
