Jesus led him away from the crowd so they could be alone. He put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then, spitting on his own fingers, he touched the man’s tongue. Looking up to heaven, he sighed and said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Be opened!” Instantly the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue was freed so he could speak plainly! — Mark 7:33–35

Experiencing Jesus through restoration of the body is one of the most amazing things I have every seen and heard about. Because it is in the name of Jesus that restoration and healing can be performed.

Yes, it doesn’t always happen. Yet, we are called by faith to believe and trust that it can happen. And I didn’t quite understand how anyone can believe so much that they could call not he name of Jesus and see someone healed. Until I met someone who experienced Jesus in this way.

I interviewed a woman, we will call her Martha, a few years back who had received a restorative healing. The year before she had a double knee replacement which left her with one leg shorter than the other. This difference in leg length caused debilitating pain in her lower back and hips. It had become so bad, she could not longer go on walks with her grandkids.
