The Gospel of Mark
Experience Jesus Like a Child
Mark 10:14–16
When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

My kids are having a very different childhood than I did when it comes to faith. Growing up, I went to church because it was the right thing to do. That and everyone in town went to a church of one kind or another.
We did all the church things too. Sunday school before big church. We did the Christmas pageants, Easter Service skits, and all the other little things in between.
I never really understood why were were doing it. But I did it out of a duty to my family and because that seemed to be what we should do. My kids on the other hand love church, but there is something different for them.
Their faith is alive. We practice hearing from God, experiencing Jesus, and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit on a regular basis. We encourage them to experience the spiritual world as much as the physical world.
