Today is my birthday. And I have been on earth for 35 years. Which seems crazy to me sometimes. Not that I think I am old. Because I know I’m not that old.

It’s crazy to me because I only feel like the last ten years have been the most established years of my life.

Ten years ago, I was starting a new job. And moving out on my own to a new city. I was really becoming an adult.

The time before that I felt like a kid.

I suppose I was though. I spent most of that time in school. Whether it was elementary school, high school, or college.

And while I was being formed by culture and what school dictated it wasn’t until the last ten years that I really stepped into my own.
