I am naturally a person who has decent rest cycles in life. I know that I need to have a day off or take a break much better than many other people. In fact, it has been a defining part of my life.
That isn’t to say that I don’t run myself ragged. When I get really excited about something or a project, I will push really far. But, most of the time, I know when I can or can’t do something because I need to rest.
An example from my life
When my wife and I were first married, we were talking about our schedule. She was used to doing something every night of the week and then going on trips on the weekends.
As we were planning our week, she had set up dinner dates or happy hours every night one week with other couples and I had to stop her in her tracks. I remember telling her that I need a couple of nights a week to take it easy.
